Manchester students react with anger as workmen return less than 24 hours later to remove COVID ‘lockdown fencing’
Workmen have returned to Manchester University accommodation to remove a stretch of ‘lockdown fencing’ following a night of protests.
Hundreds of furious students staged a demonstration at the Fallowfield Campus on Thursday night, after the university erected mental fencing at halls of residences at Owens Park and Unsworth Park.
The university have since apologised for the “concern” and “distress” caused by the move, as they agreed to remove the fencing entirely.
