New coronavirus cases linked to mink farms have been discovered in six countries including Italy, the Netherlands and Spain, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned.

An initial outbreak in Danish mink farms raised concerns that the animals had produced a new strain of the virus that could be resistant to vaccines.

More than 20 million mink have been slaughtered in Denmark, but new cases have now been discovered in five other countries.
