India: More than 2 million children orphaned by Covid-19
A project by Imperial College in London outlines the horrendous toll of the pandemic on children across the globe as millions are orphaned by the virus.
In India, more than 2 million children have been orphaned
In the United States, more than 200,000 children have been orphaned
In the United Kingdom, more than 15,000 children have been orphaned
In Canada, more than 2,000 children have been orphaned
In Australia, more than 2,000 children have been orphaned
In Italy, more than 5,000 children have been orphaned
We could have done more to protect our children. We should have done more to protect our children.
Imperial College Covid-19 orphanhood calculator
New letter out in Jama Paeds estimating orphanhood of children from COVID at 7.5 million & loss of a carer or parent at 10.5 million globally. These estimates are consistent with the Imperial estimates. This is a tragedy that is almost never spoken about.https://t.co/gpO8F4Vwa6
