AstraZeneca has reported a slightly lower efficacy rate for its Covid-19 vaccine after the results of a US clinical trial were criticised as outdated.
The company said the vaccine was 76 per cent effective in its US trial in a statement on Thursday, after an independent monitoring board expressed concern that its previous disclosure of 79 per cent efficacy relied on incomplete results.
