Prime Minister Stefan Löfven said on Tuesday that three new Swedish regions will now be covered by stricter #COVID social distancing recommendations and announced that the number of people allowed at a table at restaurants nationwide would be limited to eight people.

Sweden has seen a surge in new infections in recent weeks, and on Tuesday registered 10,177 new coronavirus cases, recorded since its previous update on Friday.

Adding Halland, Jönköping and Örebro to the list of regions covered by stricter local recommendations, Stefan Löfven urged Swedes to follow the advice if they want to save Christmas
