Monkeypox: 12 infected at Cadiz tattoo parlour
12 cases of monkeypox have been detected following visits to a tattoo shop in Cádiz, Spain.
The outbreak has been detected at a tattoo center in San Fernando, Cádiz. The shop has been temporarily closed.
According to sources from the Spanish Ministry of Health and Families, the epidemiological investigation has been initiated regarding the active search for cases and contacts and the inspection of the establishment has been carried out, proceeding to its closure in a preventive manner.
It has also been learned that the 12 cases are totally isolated in their homes and that none of them have needed medical attention.
A tattoo & piercing shop in Spain seems to have infected 12 with #monkeypox.
One of them is María del Carmen who went there to get her ear pierced, which looks to be one place with lesions. Can someone who speaks Spanish check what she says about it here?https://t.co/ygb1nAPSMZ
