Ireland: more Covid cases between Christmas and New Year than in the whole of 2020
More than 120,000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Ireland since Christmas Day. It means there were more cases recorded here between Christmas and New Year 2021 than in the whole of 2020 (91,779).
Things are going from bad to worse in Ireland with a winter wave that is more than twice as high as its previous peak in January 2021:
2021 was a difficult year for Ireland, and the world, as we faced and met the ongoing challenge of COVID-19.
Wishing everyone a happy and productive 2022, a year where we will see even greater advances in our fight against this pandemic.
