The symptoms in Omicron patients have been the same as in other variants in Denmark. This means, among other things, difficulty breathing and an inflammatory reaction in the lungs, which in the worst case can lead to lung failure.

This is the experience from a number of doctors that Berlingske has spoken to after the first patients with the Omicron variant began to be admitted to Danish hospitals.

According to the newspaper, the Omicron variant has so far been found in a total of 45 inpatients since it first appeared in Denmark at the end of November.

And in them the symptoms have been the same as in the other variants. This means, among other things, difficulty breathing and an inflammatory reaction in the lungs, which in the worst case can lead to lung failure.

There have also been a few cases where Omicron-infected people have been admitted to intensive care, Berlingske writes.

On Thursday, 9,999 new cases of coronavirus were registered in Denmark. Nearly 3,000 of them were with the Omikron variant. At the same time, the number of inpatients rose to 517. This is the highest since 1 February.
