A very disturbing development with Delta vaccine breakthrough infections has occurred in Denmark within the last day or so. Delta vaccine breakthrough cases have increased by nearly 20% in one day according to figures from Denmark’s SSI.
The table below is from the SSI vaccination status file for the 14th December 2021. You can see that on the 14th December 2021, 52.9% of “other variant” (i.e, Delta) infections were double or triple vaccinated (48.9% + 4%):
On the 15th December 2021, however, just one day later, 72.6% (66.9% and 5.7%) of “other variant” infections were double or triple vaccinated:
On the face of it, it seems that the Delta variant may be learning some of Omicron’s techniques for evading vaccines, or perhaps Delta is using Omicron as a viral trojan horse.
