B.1.1.7 Kent coronavirus variant now at 28% in Denmark

The UK B.1.1.7 variant was detected in 28.5 percent of the samples in Denmark sequenced up to Friday 12th February 2021 from the first week of February 2021.

For comparison: in the week before, the share was still 20.3 percent, at the turn of the year it was only 2.1 percent.

The SSI estimates that B.1.1.7 will probably be the dominant virus variant in the course of February 2021.
