Galicia reports a new outbreak of coronavirus on a mink farm

SARS-CoV-2 detected in a mink farm in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. The farm where the outbreak was detected has 6,554 minks (5,430 breeding females and 1,124 males). Throughout Galicia, there are currently a total of 25 farms of this type, with a total census of 71,479 animals.

This is the second outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 detected in a mink farm in Galicia, after the one registered in a farm in A Baña last January.

In addition to these two outbreaks, Spain has registered cases of mink farms positive for SARS-CoV-2 in Teruel, in June 2020, and in Ávila at the end of January
