Washington state’s first case of P.1 Brazilian coronavirus variant detected in King County
Washington state’s first case of the P.1 coronavirus variant – that was first detected in Brazil – has now been discovered in King County, state health officials said Thursday.
The case was detected in a random COVID-19 test sample that originated in King County, according to Public Health – Seattle & King County. Researchers at UW Medicine Clinical Virology Lab made the discovery, a spokesperson for UW Medicine told KOMO News.
