Through the end of September 2021, a total of 13,265 vaccine breakthrough COVID-19 cases were documented among Alaska residents. An additional 2,906 cases occurred among Alaska residents who were partially vaccinated.

Among cases with specimen collection dates during or prior to September 2021, 63 COVID-19 deaths were documented among fully vaccinated persons and 14 were documented among partially vaccinated persons. Among the 205 documented COVID-19 deaths with specimen collection dates during July–September 2021, 56 occurred in fully-vaccinated persons and 7 occurred in partially-vaccinated persons.
