Stéphane Bancel, Moderna’s chief executive, warned that it could take months for pharmaceutical companies to produce new variant-specific vaccines at the scale required should Omicron become the dominant strain.
“There is no world, I think, where the effectiveness is the same level that we had with the Delta variant” said Mr Bancel.
