Nearly 2.5 million symptomatic Covid infections reported in the UK

The UK ZOE Covid tracker is showing that there are nearly 2.5 million symptomatic Covid infections in Britain, a figure that has been rising steadily for weeks.

Infections in the UK are already nearing the peak of the last winter wave. On January 9th 2022, 2,714,084 people reported themselves to ZOE as having symptomatic Covid.

 

 

The level of UK Covid infections carried over from the summer period is also nearly twice as high as it was in 2021/2022. In November 2021, for example, there were just over 1 million symptomatic cases reported to ZOE. In November 2022, that figure was more than 2 million.
