Preprint: 40 mutations in a 16-month case of SARS-CoV-2 infection
Here we describe an approximately 16-month case of SARS-CoV-2 infection in an immunocompromised individual.
“At the earliest timepoint for which sequencing data is available, taken about four months into the infection, we detected 24 mutations that separated the patient’s virus from Wuhan-1. This number gradually increased to 40 mutations by our final sequencing timepoint.”
