Italy: €100 fines for the unvaccinated starting tomorrow
Italy will start to punish those over 50yrs who are not vaccinated with a fine of €100 from tomorrow. One and a half million people are affected.
The measure, which was approved in January and which, according to an estimate, will affect one and a half million people, will be applied randomly, which means that the fines will be made by sampling and will be notified by the Ministry of Finance based on indications received from the Ministry of Health.
Along with this, also from Tuesday, a covid passport will be mandatory to enter public offices, post offices, banks and in all commercial activities, even in bookstores, although the owners or managers of these places do not have the obligation to control the document. On the other hand, supermarkets, pharmacies, gas stations, pet stores, and optometric stores, among others, are excluded from the measure.
