XBB.1.16: Big jump in Singapore – suddenly outcompetes XBB.1.9.1 – *2 Updates*

BREAKING: Singapore has seen an unexpectedly large rise in the XBB.1.16 variant of Omicron.

The data, from CovSpectrum, shows that XBB.1.16 has risen from just 1% of sequences to over 23% of sequences in just ELEVEN DAYS.

XBB.1.16 is the variant that has seen extraordinary growth in India in the past few weeks.
