UK: Why are 50% of Covid deaths fully vaccinated?

We’ll let Meaghan Kall, an epidemiologist with Public Health England, explain why 50% of UK Covid deaths are fully vaccinated:

So, what you are saying, Meaghan, is that a disproportionate number of over-50s are dying of Covid this year because so many are vaccinated? But weren’t they dying last year because they weren’t vaccinated?

If you had told the over-50s earlier this year, when they rolled up their sleeve to be vaccinated, that, just 6 months later, their chances of dying from Covid would be the same if they were vaccinated or unvaccinated, how many would have chosen to go ahead with the vaccination?

Given the obvious deterioration in the efficacy of the vaccines, how can you be sure that the figures you quote for hospitalizations won’t also decline in a couple of months? That is already happening in Israel.

A 50% failure rate is not acceptable for any product, let alone a vaccine, and Covid vaccines are not being held to account for their dismal performance. The vaccines were oversold and have underachieved.

We need better than this. Much better.
