Denmark: Omicron BA.2_H78Y found in nearly 30% of samples – up 5% in one week

Denmark’s SSI has just released its latest Covid trend report which shows that the BA.2_H78Y subvariant of Omicron now appears in almost 30% of all sequences. That is an increase of more than 5% in just one week.

The SSI have also said that there has been a 7% increase in Covid cases in Denmark from week 5 to week 6

“The incidence is highest in the North Jutland Region, where in week 6 it reached 7,259 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. This is the highest incidence in any region this year, and corresponds to an increase of almost 28% since week 5. At the same time, it was almost 35% above the national average.”
